Positive Pathways App
Effective Date: Pre-Launch Version – Updated May 2025
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Positive Pathways mobile application on, website and services (collectively, the “App”). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree not to share your account or impersonate others.
3. Community Guidelines
Users must treat each other with respect. Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or misinformation will result in suspension or termination.
4. Content Sharing
You may share content such as posts or messages, but you retain ownership of your content. By sharing content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use it for platform operation and community visibility.
5. Payment Terms
Some features may require payment. All sales are final unless otherwise stated. Refunds may be considered under certain circumstances.
6. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms.
7. Modifications
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use after changes indicates your agreement to the updated Terms.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and we make no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the content.
9. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the App.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of Illinois, United States.

HIPAA & Health Information Practices
While Positive Pathways is not a HIPAA-covered entity, we voluntarily follow best practices inspired by HIPAA for handling sensitive user health information:
- Health data is encrypted and stored securely using Firebase’s infrastructure.
- Only limited, non-identifiable health details (e.g. HSV/HIV status) are used to improve matching and resource curation.
- Users can delete their data at any time or request account removal.
- Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
